ABOUT AARON

A life long resident of White County, Aaron is the son of Stanley and Beverly (Allen) Autry of Cleveland. He has one younger brother, Nathan. Aaron is married to Becky (Sutton) Autry. They have four children together; Jordyn, Jackson, Jennifer and Tristan, two grand children and another on the way. An animal lover with two Boxer dogs of his own.  Aaron has attended the Bridge Church of Cleveland for the past 19 years and is a proud 1993 graduate of White County High School.....GO WARRIORS!!!

In 1994, Aaron began his career in Public Safety as one of the first and the youngest 911 Dispatchers hired for White County E911.  Aaron also served as a volunteer with the City of Cleveland and White County Fire Departments where he received his Basic Firefighter and Medical First Responder certification.  Aaron obtained his jail experience with the Hall County Sheriff's Office, where he worked inside the detention center.  Aaron worked patrol for the City of Cleveland Police, Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, and White County Sheriff's Office and was the first school resource officer assigned to the White County High School.  Aaron worked hard to build a bond with both the students and faculty and is a FIRM believer in having School Resource officers in all schools within the county. Assigned to the North Georgia K-9 Taskforce for two years, Aaron worked a narcotic K-9 as a Drug Interdiction Officer for the eight Sheriffs of North Georgia, receiving his basic, advanced and K-9 supervision courses through the Chatham County K-9 training unit. After the Taskforce dissolved, Aaron brought his narcotic K-9 experience back to the White County Sheriff's Office where he became the first K-9 handler assigned to the Traffic Safety Unit. For 6 years he worked his Narcotics K-9 "Jeager" and made many drug arrests to assist in removing illegal drugs from White County. Upon his promotion to supervisor within the White County Sheriff's office, Aaron relinquished the K-9 over to another White County deputy.

Even though we are not the largest county in Georgia, White County is experiencing the "big city" crimes.  Having spent over 8 of his 26 year career in public service and law enforcement working for Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), Aaron has experience in all aspects of "big city" crimes.   Due to a MARTA conflict of interest policy regarding an employee running for public office, Aaron will take leave from MARTA to campaign for Sheriff of White County.

Aaron has logged over 2500 hours of professional public safety training which includes radio operator, detention officer training, advanced firearms, traffic enforcement, narcotics, advanced patrol courses, accident investigation, emergency medical, supervision, leadership, motor officer courses and much more.  Aaron is SWAT certified and was a member of the White County Sheriff's Office SWAT team for two years. With this wide spectrum of experience, in many fields within public safety and many hours of advanced training, Aaron will be the right choice to lead this community to where we need to be with our law enforcement.
